Start Eli Manning vs Seattle Seahawks: Eli has been playing very well this year, mostly because he has limited is turnovers (he only has 2 in the first four games). He has the 3rd best QB rating in the NFL to date, trailing behind only Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady.
The most surprising part is that he’s done this with a mashup of a receiving corps.
This week the Seahawks come to the meadowlands, and if you were to pinpoint a strength, it would be their run defense, not pass defense which is ranked 16th in the NFL.
Start Kevin Kolb vs Minnesota Vikings: Kolb has had a rough start to the season, going 1-3 and losing 3 games by a total of 8 points. He’s due for a big game and what better team to breakout against other than the win less Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings got torched by Philip Rivers, Matt Stafford, and Matt Cassel, and are giving up close to 300 yds passing per game.
Start Mark Sanchez vs New England Patriots: Now I’ll be the first to say Mark Sanchez is playing mediocre at best this season, but this game has all the markers of a breakout game for the third year quarterback of the Jets. It’s no secret that the Pats defense is dead awful this year, they can’t get anyone off the field. They rank dead last in total defense, and have been inept at getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Add in the return of All-Pro center Nick Mangold, and Sanchez is primed for a big day Sunday.
Start Matt Forte vs Detroit Lions: Matt Forte has been the Bears best weapon this season, both rushing the ball and receiving out of the backfield. The Lions strongest position is their defensive line, with the ability to get pressure on the quarterback with only 4 rushers. Matt Forte is one of the best backs in the NFL at catching the ball out of the backfield, on screens and swing passes. This match up falls perfectly into what Forte does best.
Sit Stevie Johnson vs Philadelphia Eagles: Now the the Buffalo bubble has broken, everyone can come back to reality and see that the Bills still need some improvement. Philadelphia has had trouble on defense, but their corners are solid and they get pressure on the quarterback. Look for Fitzgerald to attack the middle of the field going to his tight end and slot receivers.
Sit LeGarrette Blount vs San Francisco 49ers: After a 100 yard performance and a touchdown in Monday Night’s game, Blount should be benched this week against the 49ers. San Francisco is ranked 4th in rush defense, even shutting down the electric LeSean McCoy. Blount isn’t a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield, so look for the 49ers to stuff the run all day.
Sit New England Receivers vs New York Jets: This is a blanket pick this week, as anyone left out on Revis Island is in for a long night. Other than Wes Welker, who I think will be the one stranded on Revis Island, New England wide receivers have not produced this season. Brady has been relying on his tight ends to put the ball in the endzone, a trend that continues this week.
Sit Tom Brady vs New York Jets: Tom Brady has been fantasy gold up to this point in the season, torching defenses all over the field. The Jets shut down Joe Flacco last week, and are number one against opposing quarterbacks in fantasy scoring. This is one week where you should put Brady on the Bench

It’s week three in the NFL. Among the expectations and suprises, there is already a major milestone that will separate the contenders, from the pretenders.
